Bedroom Design
18 December 2019
I think designing spaces in your own home is the most challenging, especially for kiddos. You have to find the middle ground that speaks to who they are and what they love but also (if you’re visually motivated like me) works in the context of the whole home and sets them up for success (access to clothes, books and toys). This is the first draft of Marlowe’s room using pieces that were purchased for two previous spaces. She loves color and rainbows but she missed sleeping in her tipi (she prefers the smaller enclosed space) so we have since brought it back and I’m reworking the furniture placement and sourcing a new rug that will suit the room size better. I’ve found that living with pieces for awhile and observing how they are actually used can guide you to the ultimate “design”. .
