Kitchen Design

Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica & Calabasas

A kitchen should make you happy before the coffee kicks in. Color you love, materials you want to touch, and room for everyone who somehow ends up in there.

At Amy Pigliacampo Interiors, we design kitchens around your taste and the life that happens between meals. Our kitchen design work in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Calabasas ranges from focused renovations to kitchens within full home remodels and new builds.

Let the materials have a conversation

A cabinet color can look completely different beside the right tile. We look at the whole mix: the grain of the wood, the scale of a pattern, the shape of a light, and how the countertop catches the sun. That’s where the interesting part happens. We work through cabinetry, countertops, backsplash tile, plumbing fixtures, and lighting together, so you can see where we’re going.

Room for the good stuff

Tell us how you actually use the kitchen. Do you love cooking, spread out a project on the counter, or host everyone while trying to get dinner made? We plan work surfaces, appliance placement, storage, and sight lines around those answers. An island needs to earn the floor space. And the things you love looking at deserve somewhere to live, too.

My own kitchen is a good reminder to look closely before reaching for the sledgehammer. Better flow, storage, and sight lines came without moving walls or making major structural changes. A lot happens before the pretty part

We begin with your home, what you’re hoping for, your anticipated investment, and timing. Once we agree on the scope, we develop the layout and materials, then work through the details with your architect, general contractor, and craftspeople as needed. Depending on the scope, full-service work can continue through sourcing, site visits, installation, and styling. The drawings and decisions are what make the beautiful part possible.

Do we have to replace everything?

Not necessarily. We want to understand what’s working before deciding what goes. Sometimes the layout needs a serious rethink. Sometimes a few well-chosen changes let you see the whole kitchen differently.

Part of a larger renovation?

Yes. Kitchen design can be part of a full home renovation or select new build. We consider the rooms around it from the beginning, so a cabinet finish, a floor, or a pendant makes sense beyond the kitchen itself.
