No Sleep Till Brooklyn
This Brooklyn townhouse was an exercise in contrast, where traditional architecture meets modern design and conventional rules take a back seat. Our clients wanted a home that embraced tension, playful pattern, bold color and a healthy dose of irreverence. We approached the interiors from front to back, allowing the more traditional spaces at the front of the home to gradually give way to a decidedly modern sensibility toward the rear. The wallpaper came first, and we drew on both classic and boutique makers for the furnishings and lighting. Together with unexpected materials, custom details and the owners' incredible art collection, it creates a layered, highly personal home where old and new, playful and sophisticated, happily coexist.
