Open shelves vs upper cabinets ... I don’t really consider shelves a trend, more of a preference. Open shelving creates many opportunities to add color and personality to your space while giving your kitchen a much lighter visual weight overall (so good for small spaces!). Plus whenever you get bored it’s super easy to change things up! You can see the dramatic difference they made in this space🪴(see the big black fridge? That’s where the left side shelving is now)
