Schoolhouse lighting and personal interiors
We keep coming back to Schoolhouse for distinctive, thoughtfully designed pieces that help us make each home feel personal.
A kitchen renovation, with less in the way
This space went from dated 90s details, awkward proportions and too many competing warm tones to something minimal, functional, balanced and calm. We…

What’s our favorite kind of project? Whole House Remodels! Nothing is more satisfying than taking some tired, dated and usually fifty shades of brown and…
Bespoke kitchens, shaped around daily life
A bespoke kitchen is not about starting from scratch, it is about starting from the life that will unfold there. How you move through the space, where you land in the morning, what needs to be seen and what needs to disappear. The best ones feel like they have always been there, not overly designed, just deeply aligned with how you live. In both remodels and new builds, we are thinking about proportion, material, light, and flow from the very beginning so the kitchen feels inevitable, not added on. It is a process of refining, editing, and building something that works hard but feels effortless.🤍🤍🤍If you are planning a project and want a kitchen that actually reflects how you live, we would love to hear from you (Some favorite expressions of that idea here).🤍🤍🤍
An Amuneal niche in a historic home

A fresh kitchen without starting over
𝔻𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕓𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕧𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕤𝕖 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕔𝕒𝕓𝕚𝕟𝕖𝕥𝕤? Our clients in Durango wanted a completely new look but didn’t want to throw everything out. Luckily we had an extremely collaborative GC who pushed everyone outside of their comfort zone (those tambour details really stressed out a few of his subs but they made it happen). Big thank you to @designmilk @element75 for featuring this very special project and to our amazing clients @adacolme and Tim for trusting us and giving us 4 days to shoot this summer. (And to @coreindustries who did 143 things to help me pull off this project and shoot)
A kitchen reimagined beneath original beams
So thrilled to have our place featured on @housebeautiful yesterday! 𝕃𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕚𝕟 𝔹𝕀𝕆 The biggest transformation has got to be the kitchen…from crazy to calm, the improvement is major! What do you think?
A Durango kitchen before and after
What a difference the right changes can make! Our Durango clients wanted to “de-brown” their house and the kitchen was their worst offender. The original cabinets were high quality and in great shape but needed a dramatically different look to suit their owners colorful modern Scandinavian taste. We kept about 65% of the existing, created several new pieces to house appliances, bar and coffee stations, painted them the most incredible blue (there is also a pop of yellow on the peninsula), added modern relief tile, fresh white counters, lighting by @schoolhouse , custom shelves, tambour doors , @brizofaucet white plumbing all on top of refinished floors. While we haven’t photographed this ourselves yet (big TY to @adacolme ) we are so delighted with the transformation and couldn’t wait to share (there is so much more you haven’t seen yet!). 𝕆𝕦𝕣 𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕧𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕨 𝕔𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 𝕙𝕠𝕨 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕖 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖𝕥𝕖; there are always some on-site edits but it’s pretty darn close ⚒️📐❤️💛🩵 Did we nail it? (Yes or No)
Hill Country interiors in Rue
Just in case you wanted to linger on the images 😘…our #hillcountryunexpected project with @harpersmithphoto (love u!) + @cameronduddy is on newsstands this week! What a crazy ride this one was, culminating in me taking the photos (kitchen + piano shot by @claire_schaper) with phone support by @coreindustries ! Since I’m a total control freak, we usually shoot together with Corey behind the camera but we couldn’t make this one work so 2 weeks before a major MOVE I flew to TX on Mother’s Day and GOT IT DONE (imagine the pressure of taking photos of an amazingly talented pro photographer’s home, Hi Harper 😂)…not sure I’ve ever worked this hard for photos (and I’ve had some intense shoots) but it’s all good because the incredibly awesome @kellilamb_ wanted it for @ruemagazine and my life is complete, Merry Xmas, Happy Birthday ,thank you thank you and bye now💪🏻💥⚡️🔮💫📸🧿❣️
Styling a light-filled kitchen with friends
Thinking about our friends @shopjonesandco and @denver_modern @veeelark @ginawhitee @dedalusboulder @rosie_crain @ianwarrenphoto @coreindustries …stumbled upon these great shots from our collab last year and wanted to share again. We all worked our butts off that day and got a crazy amount of content💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻…love this season so much even though it’s intense and exhausting😂…and this kitchen design still holds up pretty well 6 years later.
Dark Cotto tile for a kitchen peninsula
Kitchen peninsula got a sweet upgrade this week courtesy of @zia_tile … obsessed with their #cotto series especially the new colors like oscura🖤🤎
A walnut kitchen detail in 5280 Home
Many thanx to @5280home for sharing this today “Kitchen design hack: To achieve her vision of walnut cabinetry without breaking the bank, designer Amy Pigliacampo had Fort Collins–based @customclassiccabinetry create grain-matched walnut cabinets for the interior of her U-shaped kitchen and budget-friendly white drawer fronts for the outside of the peninsula.”
The right stool for a working kitchen
The perfect stool is so hard to find! Seating is my favorite way to add color, texture and juxtaposition in a hard working space. {{ just checked and they are majorly on sale at @designwithinreach , shown here at our #ironicmeetsiconicinbklyn project }}
A full-scale look at Reform MATCH
Finally got to see @reformcph ‘s MATCH collection full scale IRL…been obsessed with this material for months now, can’t wait to create something special out of it 💥

A Boulder renovation in 5280 Home
“Every renovation comes with a setback or two, whether it’s a delayed tile shipment or a plumbing mishap. But one local family had particularly bad luck while revamping their Boulder home: After being struck by lightning, the house’s attic and second story caught fire. The family was unharmed, but the second story and attic required a complete rebuild. Link in bio to read why homeowner/designer @amypigliacampo referred to the incident as “the best thing that could have happened.” - leaving on a high note; so much thanks to @christinedeorio + @5280 for this gorgeous sendoff
Reimagining a timber-beamed kitchen
Got my work cut out for me on this one! Can’t wait to tackle it with my most difficult client @coreindustries 😉…a few ideas in mind and we will be chatting with @reformcph @marfacabinets @formkitchens and @semihandmade to see what the possibilities might be! Stay tuned, only 7 weeks till we land in Topanga🔜🔜🔜🔜🔜
